Ate Months

Psst.....

...over here...

...it's me...Remy.

Anyone here?

Looks like I got here just in time! I was a little worried you might be off looking for another blog featuring a cute little guy like myself.

Just kidding! Like there are any other 8 month olds as cute as me. LOL!

Thing is, Mom's been super busy. Sure, she's got work, but we don't talk about it since it has nothing to do with me. Truth? Now that I've "gone mobile" she can't keep up.

And she worries. Apparently I'm not an adventurous eater. Well there's nothing wrong with only wanting bananas for every meal, amiright?

Mom...don't worry...I've totally got this.

Bt-double-u...I'm coming to you live at some point in time from my new laptop. The WiFi is kinda spotty and the 's' keepss ssticking. The OS is Fisher Price 0.1 and let's face it...it's no Vtech. But it keepss me connected to the intrawebs and my adoring fans.

Speaking of adoring, I'm sure you can't wait to see my official photo (and when I say official I mean that everyone was in their PJ's except for me).

Yeah, it's cute, but staged. I do what I can to make it interesting, but there are only so many ways to sit in a chair.

Here's how I live my days. Unscripted.

I know what you're wondering and yes, I do all of my own stunts.

Now aren't you glad you sstuck around?

Lucky Number Seven

In terms of baby milestones, I'd say we've hit the jackpot.

At this point, I'm afraid to even blink for fear I'll miss something. Like his first word, or his college graduation.

As quick as Remy's progress was over Christmas - he went from rocking on his knees to crawling in 0.52 seconds - I really shouldn't be so surprised. But I'm a Mom who is in denial that my baby boy is growing up at lightning speed.

It all started with an innocent little kneel, as Remy is so eloquently demonstrating in the photo below.

If I'd only known what was in store, I would have scooped him up so fast and made it my life goal to make sure his precious little toes didn't touch the floor again until he was at least 16 years old.

But Remy was one step ahead of me and, after deciding not to hold anything back I assume, pulled himself up and shimmied his way over to the corner of the crib. True story.

Please excuse me while I have a momentary Mommy freakout. #*@#&!!!

Now it's all he does. He's like "Oh hey, maybe I'll just stand up while playing. No big deal."

And if that weren't enough to send any Mom into a state of panic (I might have mumbled babyproofing in my sleep), we've also found his second tooth.

No photos of the teeth yet. But let's be honest, wouldn't you rather look at this cute face instead?
So we are doing our best to make sure he doesn't gnaw off a finger (his or ours, he doesn't seem to have a preference).

And we are enjoying every second.

Winning.

New Year's Resolutions

Hi everyone! It's me, Remy.

Now that I've had a chance to play with taste all of my new Christmas gifts, I thought it was time to put some New Year's Resolutions together.

You can see more pics of my 1st Christmas here.
I'm a little new at this, but I've been listening to Mom for some ideas. Speaking of Mom, she obviously needs to keep brainstorming since I don't think her goal of sleeping through the night is going to happen any time soon. To tell you the truth, I happen to enjoy our midnight get togethers.

So after giving it some thought - you know, like during diaper changes and such - I've come up with the following resolutions..

1. Work on my speed.

Now that I've figured out the logistics behind crawling, I need to work on my timing. My goal is to be fast enough to give Mom a good chase.

2. Take a break.

With all of that crawling, it will be super important to take breaks and rest. I wouldn't want to pull a muscle.

3. Help around the house.

Because really, it's the least I can do.

4. Use my imagination.

Who needs a fancy car when you've got this awesome one-seater?

5. Be cuter.

Some of you may be asking yourself  "Self, is this even possible?" Well I'm here to tell you that I'm not sure. But I'm going to give it everything I've got.

Well here goes...wish me luck!

6 Month Surprises

Recently it seems that not a day goes by that Remy doesn't have a new surprise for us.

So what have I been the most surprised about?

Well first I thought it was when he discovered how to get up on his knees and then started to rock. (Time to start baby proofing!)...

but then I knew it was when he could entertain himself in the crib...

I was sure it was when he started eating real food...and liked it...

OK...I finished my dinner..time for dessert!

But was convinced it was when he starting sitting on his own...

Turns out, the biggest surprise wasn't any of these things. What has surprised me most is that each day I find myself more in love with this guy. It doesn't seem possible that I could love him any more than I do at this moment but I know tomorrow I will find one more thing to love about this sweet baby boy of mine.

Missed month 5? Check out the secret post here.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

Just a quick note to remind you of how good I've been this year. (I've even heard Mom say that I'm a little angel when she thought I wasn't listening.)

I know how hard it can be to figure out what a little guy like me might want and figured you could use some suggestions. I've been giving it a lot of thought - you know, in my spare time - and have come up with my top ten list below.

1. Sophie the Giraffe - I've always wanted a pet giraffe and all of my friends at school have one and say she's really great. Plus I promise to feed and walk her.

2. Sassy Developmental Wonder Wheel Station - Mom just started putting me in my highchair while she's in the kitchen "cooking". I have to admit it's a little boring compared to what I'm used to. One of these would definitely make it slightly more bearable.

3. Manhattan Toy Winkel - Look how cool this thing is! And think of all of the things I can do with it, like chew on it...and stretch it...and chew on it...

4. Melissa & Doug Toolbox Fill and Spill - I can't wait to help Dad work on things around the house, however, I'm still working on my coordination skills and am only allowed to supervise. In the meantime, I can practice with this set.

5. Melissa & Doug Caterpillar Grasping Toy - Every little boy needs a pet caterpillar. This is probably the only one Mom will knowingly let me have.

6. Manhattan Toys Farmyard Friends Soft Activity Book - I've always enjoyed a good adventure book.

7. Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes - I'm ready to give this Einstein guy some real competition.

8. Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack and Roll Cups - It's either this or some Tupperware containers.

9. VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker -  I may not be ready to walk yet, but when I am, I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get.

10. Lil Melon Knee Pads - Because I need to learn how to crawl before I can walk.

If you are looking to save some time (and give those little elves a well deserved break) you can see my complete wish list here.

I'm sure you're super busy getting your lists in order so I'll keep this short. Please tell Mrs. Claus that I said hi. I'll make sure Mom saves you some of her delicious sugar cookies. You better hurry though, I can't guarantee Bella won't eat them before you get here.

Your Little Buddy,
Remy

P.S. Tell Rudolph that I've been practicing my reindeer riding technique on Bella but I'm not quite ready for the real thing yet. Can we reschedule for next year?
