You can't have your cake and eat it too

I once overheard Mom say that "you can't have your cake and eat it too". At the time I was confused. There was no cake involved, so I knew she was just experiencing a sleep deprived hallucination. Or maybe she was trying to distract me. Either way, you should never bring up cake unless you actually have some and are 100% willing to share.

So I had been waiting exactly 1 year to have a cake of my very own. And I had every intention of eating it too.

I was so excited I could barely sit still. (Thanks to Mom for keeping me focused!)

I could not believe my eyes. This amazing sugary masterpiece was mine...all mine.

This was it. The moment I had been waiting for. I could almost feel the icing between my fingers; the impending sugar rush. Get ready...here I go...

...and that was as far as I got. I totally froze!

All I could think of was that craziness Mom had mentioned about not being able to have your cake and eat it too. What was happening to me?

This could mean only one thing. I have officially grown up. That is the only explanation for my lack of interest in completely destroying the cake.

Who knew that growing up would be so tough?

The bucket list

You guys.

Something big is about to happen.

Based on Mom's recent Google searches, it appears that somebody is about to have a big birthday.

To find out who, I decided to do some investigative work. So I put on my thinking cap suspenders and got to work.

After some complex calculations that I won't get into (let's just say it involved the ratio of toys I have to the number of teeth marks in said toys) I've been able to determine that the somebody is...

ME!

Which means I don't have a lot of time. You see, there are things that every baby dreams of doing before they turn the big ZERO ONE.

So I put together my list and am happy to report that I'm farther along than I thought.

1. Work on my communication (check)

2. Hang out with a good friend (check)

3. Be adventurous (check)

4. Get my toes wet (check)

5. Find the perfect chair (still deciding)

6. Be silly (check)

7. Enjoy a good game... (check)

8. ...and a good show (check)

Wow! Now that I see how much I've done, I guess I am ready to grow up.

There's just one thing left on my list....

9. Eat cake

Blurry

Things have been a little blurry here lately.

Take my son for example...

He will not cannot stop moving.

And now that he's walking, there's no turning back.

So I've decided to stop deleting all of the blurry photos. And even post a few.

Because even blurry, he is too stinkin' cute.

My brain has been a little blurry too. Things are incomprehensivble unless they are written neatly, preferably in list format. Time, dates - basically anything with letters or num3ers - turns my mind to mush. Which would explain why I am posting Remy's 10 month picture after his 11 month birthday.

And with Remy's 1 year (ahhh!!) a month away, the memories are starting to get a little blurry. I spent a weekend organizing old photos - when I wasn't chasing Remy- and can honestly say that some of the special moments I captured are not as easy to recall as they used to be.

I'm having a hard time remembering the tiny feet....

...the best way to get some sleep...

...or how lucky we felt to capture THE SMILE on camera....

I guess taking "some" photos wasn't so crazy after all.

The Rock ★ Life

Livin' the life of a rock star isn't easy.

Sure, it may not look tough, but that's only because I'm so good at it. (I make putting things in my mouth look easy too but I wouldn't recommend trying that at home folks.)

Let's look at a few examples...

Photographs - Everyone wants one. So I always have to be 'on'. And I try to mix it up so everyone has a personal experience.

Endorsements - Selecting a product to back was a challenge. I finally chose sneakers because they're cool. And because I'll probably need a new pair every six months.

Fans - Taking the time to love your fans is huge. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Cars - Having a nice car collection is a perk but deciding which car to "drive" is a nightmare. There are not enough days in the week. #babyproblems

Music Videos - Starring in your own music video is not as glamorous as it seems. The hours are grueling. (You would not believe how many takes we shot to get this.)

So I make-do. Because I didn't choose this rock star life. It chose me.

"this many" months

If you have been living under a rock haven't been following the blog closely, you may not be aware that I recently passed a major milestone.

You know what they say... 9 months is the new 6 months.

And you can't tell - since Mom always posts the boring picture - but I've been totally rockin' my monthly portraits.

Take this one for example:

Some people may call this a blurry photo. I call it art.

Or this one:

An action shot for all of the guys out there following me. Totally freaks Mom out.

My new favorite:

I like it because it's a side of me you rarely see.

And for all the ladies out there:

I call this my "how you doin'" pose. Works. every. time.

How you doin'?

Ate Months

Psst.....

...over here...

...it's me...Remy.

Anyone here?

Looks like I got here just in time! I was a little worried you might be off looking for another blog featuring a cute little guy like myself.

Just kidding! Like there are any other 8 month olds as cute as me. LOL!

Thing is, Mom's been super busy. Sure, she's got work, but we don't talk about it since it has nothing to do with me. Truth? Now that I've "gone mobile" she can't keep up.

And she worries. Apparently I'm not an adventurous eater. Well there's nothing wrong with only wanting bananas for every meal, amiright?

Mom...don't worry...I've totally got this.

Bt-double-u...I'm coming to you live at some point in time from my new laptop. The WiFi is kinda spotty and the 's' keepss ssticking. The OS is Fisher Price 0.1 and let's face it...it's no Vtech. But it keepss me connected to the intrawebs and my adoring fans.

Speaking of adoring, I'm sure you can't wait to see my official photo (and when I say official I mean that everyone was in their PJ's except for me).

Yeah, it's cute, but staged. I do what I can to make it interesting, but there are only so many ways to sit in a chair.

Here's how I live my days. Unscripted.

I know what you're wondering and yes, I do all of my own stunts.

Now aren't you glad you sstuck around?
