+1

Caleb and I attended my cousin's wedding two weekends ago and took our little guy as our plus one.

Could my dates get any cuter?!
And guess who gets all flirty when he puts on a tie.

This guy.

The wedding was held at the historic Spring Haven Mansion north of Nashville.

Friends and Family traveled from all over the country to share in this special day.

The mother and brother of the bride.
The Matrons of Honor

The only thing more beautiful than the weather was the bride.

The ceremony was extra special for us since the officiant was the same person who performed our ceremony almost 6 years ago.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Golding!

Let's get the party started..

The Best Man (with the best mustache!)

Remy surprised us all with his dancing skills.

Caleb partied his head off!
We didn't even have to pay for the babysitting!
And guess who was the last to leave the party?

Why did the chicken cross the road?

We may never know, although there are a lot of versions out there.

Here's Remy's version:

It's a little lengthy, but the punchline is great.

And for the Grandparents, those who have some time to kill and a certain Mom who is returning to work and may need it, I have posted additional videos here.

3 Months

Shhh.

Did you hear that?

That was the sound of 3 months flying by.

At warp speed.

But before we get to the big photo reveal, here's a list of 3 month stats.

1. He is 13.2 pounds.
2. He is now sleeping in his crib almost exclusively....
3.  ....without being swaddled....
4.  ....for almost 8 hours straight!
5. He has found his thumb and is able to pacify himself to fall asleep. (Can you hear those Angels singing?)
6. He is very alert and has started looking up.
7. He can blow raspberries.
8. He smiles a lot and laughs without making a sound. (So precious!)
9. He is able to grasp and hold on to his toys (and hair).
10. We couldn't be more in love.

And here are the side by sides.

Is it just me or does he actually look smaller?

The Rehearsal

This is a big week for us.

Not only is it the last week of my maternity leave (which means I need to get moving on my to do list I've been compiling) but it is also our dress rehearsal for day care.

Cue the emotional breakdown tears.

Here's what I was expecting this morning when I dropped him off. Luckily, Remy didn't shed a tear. I can't say the same for myself.
When I finally realized that going back to work was unavoidable (meaning we did not win the lottery), I decided that I would ease our family back into the real world one baby step at a time. My plan? To build up Remy's time at the day care over the course of this week. Hopefully this will help him (and when I say him I mean me) transition into his new routine. Cause let's face it, I'm totally panicking a little nervous about going through Remy withdrawals.

So I have a bit of time to kill this week. I'll be staying busy so I'm not watching the clock and counting the minutes (only 87 more until I pick him up today!) Who knows, I may even make several appearances here.

Until then, I'll most likely be looking through these.

Remy loves his swing!

One of my favorite things is the Remy stretch.

Look what we caught in our tub!

He looks all grown up in this shot. What happened to my baby boy?!

Hanging out with Dad.

Sniff.

Somebody get me a tissue.

My Birthday Present to Mom

Hi guys! It's me again.

Just a quick post between naps (I've been sleeping a lot lately. Last night I went 9 1/2 hours between feedings. Boy was I starving when I woke up!) to show you my surprise for Mom's birthday.

(click the play button to see me in action)

Ta-Daaa!

Pretty cool, huh? I've been working on it in the bassinet in my spare time. (You know, before she wakes up in the morning.) She was so excited when she saw it that she had me do it again for the camera. And since it's her birthday I thought "sure..why not?"

I'm taking her out tomorrow to get some cheesy cake she keeps talking about. (I don't know about you, but  milk and cookies would be at the top of my list.)

And I may even let her sleep in.

Time to roll!

My Life at 9 Weeks

Hi everybody! It's Remy.

Mom asked me to update everyone on what my life is like at 9 weeks and I am happy to share. Plus she's been really great at changing my diapers so I kind of owe her. Here goes...

Let's start with my two month pictures. I threw in an extra one because 1. Dad took such great pictures of me and 2. I'm writing this post so I can put in as many as I want.

Yes, that's me! Can you believe I can sit up? (With some assistance of course.)

Having a hard time remembering what I looked like last month? I've provided you a side by side comparison for your convenience. (And because I wanted to post another picture of yours truly.)

Now for the details..

I'm starting to really get Mom into a great schedule. She is learning fast when I am tired and puts me in my crib to sleep. She swaddles me up tight and turns on my new mobile so I have something to watch until I fall asleep, which doesn't take long if I'm not overtired. I take 3 naps during the day. A short one in the morning, a long one around noon and another short one in the afternoon. Mom tries to get me to sleep early at night, but I consider myself a night owl and won't even consider going to sleep until at least 11pm.

I'm smiling a lot now. And I throw in a few coos just to keep it exciting for Mom.  Mom says that sometimes I sound like I'm laughing in my sleep. I'm probably dreaming about taking a bubble bath, which I'm doing more often. They are a lot of fun, and a good way to wind down at the end of a long day. (Hey..it's not easy being this cute all the time!)

I found my hands the other day. I can hold them in front of my face and look at them. I am also trying desperately to get them into my mouth if only they would just stop moving so much! I've caught my thumb a few times and boy does it hit the spot in between feedings.

And my most recent news...

This morning, Mom found me in the bassinet on my stomach. I know... I was surprised too!

Uh oh...time to go. Mom says it's tummy time.

10 things I've learned in two months..

1. Laundry isn't so horrible when there are teenie tiny socks involved.
2. Not all babies go to sleep on their own. (See item #6)
3. With all of the clothes in the closet, sometimes I still prefer a naked baby.
4. I never thought I'd be so relieved to hear someone "toot".
5. Babies grow FAST. (We are currently at 11.2 lbs.)
6. I have mastered the sleep dance. (See item #2)
7. My diaper changing speed is still not fast enough.
8. I am happy sitting perfectly still for as long as required as long as I'm holding a sleeping baby. (See items #2 & 7)
9. There are moments for spontaneity. Like when you realize he's about to fall asleep so you do a quick photo shoot.

 And.....
10. Photo shoots make babies sleepy.
